How lucky are we to have a gem like Chef Nathaniel Reid churning out some of the best desserts in the country?! Yelp recently ranked Nathaniel Reid Bakery as one of the top 10 bakeries in the country, and Chef Reid was nominated as a James Beard semifinalist for “Outstanding Baker” in 2019. His pièce de résistance is the Guyana cake. The brown sugar cocoa sponge cake is encased in a thin chocolate glaze, layered with dark chocolate cream, served on a bed of crunchy caramelized rice that is mixed with milk chocolate streusel and hazelnuts, and topped off with a salted chocolate crumble.
