Good morning, St. Louis! Here are five things to know before you start your busy day:
1. Yum!: Nathaniel Reid Bakery, located at 11243 Manchester Road, has been named the best bakery in Missouri, according to Buzzfeed. Several reviews listed in the ranking state that Reid's creations are similar to those in New York City or Los Angeles. The bakery opened its doors in 2016.
2. Superstar status: Angelina Kelley, a 7-year-old second-grader from O'Fallon, Illinois, will appear on Little Big Shots with host Steve Harvey on Sunday. Kelley is a state medal-winning wrestler. The episode will air at 7 p.m. Sunday on KSDK Newschannel 5.
3. BBQ news: Paddy O's, located at 618 S. 7th St., has announced it will have an expanded menu once it adds items featuring BBQ Madman, beginning April 10. The new menu items include double smoked pulled rib tacos, smokehouse gumbo, homemade brats, and traditional St. Louis-style BBQ.
4. Education news: The National Speech & Debate Association has recognized the following Missouri schools for earning charter membership in the organization: Collegiate School of Medicine & Bioscience in St. Louis; Lafayette High School in Wildwood; and Windsor High School in Imperial. Each school has earned more than 50 degrees for outstanding participation in speech and debate activities.
5. Event alert: Forest Park Forever and the city of St. Louis are hosting a public open house and program Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center in Forest Park. The second annual Under the Clock Tower: State of Forest Park Community Gathering will feature discussions on improvement projects.
